Privacy
The short version: KodeTrail has no accounts, sets no tracking cookies, and stores your learning progress only on your own device.
What we store
Your lesson progress, quiz results, streaks, XP, settings, and certificates are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave it unless you export them yourself. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
What we don't do
No user accounts, no analytics cookies, no advertising, no selling of data — there is simply no personal data on our side to sell.
Third-party services when running code
Some playground features load open-source runtimes (Python, SQL) from the jsDelivr CDN, and compiled languages (Java, Go, Rust, and others) are executed by the free Piston API at emkc.org. When you run code in those languages, the code you typed is sent to that service for execution and standard technical data (like your IP address) is visible to it, as with any web request. Nothing else is shared.
Certificates
The name you type on a certificate is rendered locally in your browser and stored only on your device. Certificate verification codes are checksums computed locally — no registry exists on any server.
